In the name of god amen: I John Mee of Diseworth in the countie of Leicester husbandman beinge sicke in bodye, but whole & of p'fect remembrance, thanks be given to god, do make and ordeyne this my last will and testament in mann and forme followinge: First I give and bequeath my soule to almightie god my maker & Redeemer of whom cometh my salvaton and my body to be buried in the p'rishe churchyearde of Diseworthe afforesayle: And for my temporall goods I dispose from as followeth. First I give unto the poorest of the inhabitants of Diseworthe five shillings to be distributed at the discreton of my Overseers. Ftm I bequeath and give towarde the maintenance of the church xx d. Ftm I bequeath and give unto Margaret Mee my brothers daughter one Ewe horsye. Ftm I bequeathe and give unto Thomas Mee my second sonne the some of ten pounds to be payde unto him when he shall come to, and fullie accomplishe the age of xxi yeres. Ftm I bequeathe and give unto William Mee my thirde sonne, the some of ten pounds to be payde unto him when he shall come to, and fullie accomplishe the age of xxi yeres. Ftm I bequeath & give unto Josephe Mee my yungest sonne the some of ten pounds to be payde unto him when he shall come to & fullie accomplishe the age of xxi yeres. And also my will is that yf any of my sayde three sons, bieth Thomas, William or Josephe shall depart this life before they shall come to, and fullie accomplishe the age of xxi yeres as afforesayde, that then his, or their portion, or portions shalbe equallie devided, & goe to the survivers afforenamed or to the surviver yf there shalbe noe more. And further my will is that my afforesayde three sonnes, & every one of them shalbe here mayneteyned & kept at the hardyes of my Executors with meate drinke and sufficient appell until they shalbe able to be put to service, or to be Apprenting to some trade or science. And alsoe shalbe mayneteyned & kept at the chardyes of my Executors in tyme of visitaton of sickness (yf yt shall please god to lay that crosse upon them, or any one of them) with sufficient diett and maynetenance, untill yt shall please god to recover them, & every of them to their former healthe agayne. All the rest pf my goods & chattels, (my debts payde and funeral exspencs dischardyed) I whollye give & bequeathe unto Cicilie my Wife & Robt Mee my eldest sonne, (whom I make my executor of this my last Will and testament) to be foyntlye occupied betwixt them dureinge the yeres of my leasse unexpyred, yf they soe longe live together. P'vided alwayes and further my will is that yf my Cicilie sayde Wife shall happen to marrye dureinge the tyme of my leasse unexpired that then she shall have but the one halfs of all my corne, cattell, & houshold stuffs in towne & field, and soe to sale yt and goe her waye leaveinge the farme & the whole use thereof unto my other Executor Robt Mee, dureinge the tearme as afforesayde. And be yt further p'vided, and my will is that yf my sayde sonne Robt Mee shall happen to marrye before he come to & accomplishe the age of thirtie yeres without the consent and speciall agreement of Cicilie my sayde wife and the overseer of this my last will & testament (whose names are subscribed) or the greater pte of them; that then he shall have but the some of ten pounds, beinge the pte & bequest given to Josephe my yongest sonne, and to leave his whole bequest and Executorship afforesayde unto the sayde Josephe. Ftm I doe institute & ordeyne my welbeloved in christ William Catherens of Waurtoft Graundge in the countie of Leic gent: And Richarde Clifforde of Diseworthe afforesayde husbandman, my overseer of this my last will & testament, and in consideraton thereof I doe give unto eyther of them xii d. In witness wherof I have hereunto put my hand & seale the daye & yere first above written.
